Bachelorette, 34
Director: Kara Herold
Showing: May 31, 3pm, Abalone Room
(Filmmaker in person) The director’s very personal essay on the privileges and pressures (especially from her mother) of “still” being single is illustrated in a lighthearted but nonetheless telling way through her very clever manipulation of animation, archival footage and sound. This is the intentionally funny instructional film we have been waiting for all these years, the antidote to those dreary and unintentionally funny filmic forays into matters personal which we were subjected to in some long ago “Health” class.
